Bulk Layout Assigner
Assign custom Shopping Worlds layouts to all products or categories in bulk. Save hundreds of hours on manual edits in large Shopware 6 catalogs.
The description shows what such a plugin can do. We tailor the scope to your shop after a short needs analysis and usually deliver within a few days.
In short
- Reduce catalog layout setup time from days to minutes — even for 5,000+ product stores
- Eliminate repetitive manual edits by assigning layouts to entire product sets in one click
- Maintain visual consistency across your storefront without touching each product individually
Why this extension
Without the plugin
In Shopware 6, assigning a custom Shopping Worlds layout to a product detail page or category listing is a per-record operation. For stores with hundreds or thousands of products, this means opening every single product individually, navigating to the Layout tab, selecting the layout, and saving — repeated as many times as there are products. For a catalog of 5,000 items, that is simply not a viable workflow.
With the plugin
The Bulk Layout Assigner extension eliminates this bottleneck entirely. It integrates directly into the Shopware 6 administration interface, adding bulk-edit and rule-based automation capabilities to the product list and category tree. You can apply any custom layout to thousands of products or categories in a single action — or define persistent assignment rules so new products are handled automatically as your catalog grows.
How it would work
- Select your products or categories
Open the product list or category tree in the Shopware 6 administration. Use the standard filters — by category, manufacturer, property, or any other attribute — to narrow down the records you want to update. You can also select all records matching the current filter with a single checkbox.
- Choose a layout and apply
In the bulk-edit toolbar, select the target layout from the dropdown — the same custom Shopping Worlds layouts you have already created in the Experience Worlds editor. Use the dry-run preview to confirm the scope of the change, then click Apply. The plugin updates all selected records immediately.
- Define automation rules (optional)
For ongoing automation, configure rule-based assignments in the plugin settings. Set conditions such as "all products in category X" or "all products from manufacturer Y" and map them to a layout. The plugin evaluates these rules whenever products are created or updated, keeping your storefront consistent without any manual follow-up.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a ready plugin I can buy?
No – it is a concept. We build it for your shop after a short needs analysis. Prices start at €100 and you get a fixed quote before we start.
Can I assign layouts to product detail pages and category listing pages separately?
Yes. The plugin treats these as two distinct operations. Product detail page layouts are assigned from the product list, while category listing layouts are assigned from the category tree — exactly as Shopware 6 separates these concepts natively. You have full independent control over both.
Will bulk-assigning a layout overwrite layouts already set on individual products?
By default, the bulk assignment overwrites any existing layout assignment on the selected records. The dry-run preview mode shows exactly which records are affected before you confirm, so there are no unexpected changes.
Does the plugin work with layouts created in the standard Shopware 6 Experience Worlds editor?
Yes. The plugin reads all published custom layouts available in your Shopware 6 instance and presents them in the selection dropdown. No additional layout creation or import is required.
Is this plugin suitable for agencies managing multiple client stores?
Yes. The plugin is particularly well-suited for Shopware agencies handling large catalog migrations or multi-store rollouts, where manual layout assignment at scale would otherwise consume significant project time.
Which Shopware versions are supported?
We build it for the version your shop runs: 6.5, 6.6 or 6.7. Updates for new Shopware versions are included as long as we stay in active contact.
How long does it take?
Usually 5–10 business days after the needs analysis, depending on the agreed scope.
