Email Template Debugger & Tester

Test Shopware 6 email templates with real order data. Catch broken variables before they silently kill your Flow emails — no new orders required.

This is a concept, built for your shop

The description shows what such a plugin can do. We tailor the scope to your shop after a short needs analysis and usually deliver within a few days.

In short

  • Eliminate hours of trial-and-error debugging by pinpointing broken variables in seconds
  • Prevent silent email failures in production Flows before they affect real customers
  • Remove the need to create dummy orders just to test a single template change

Why this extension

Without the plugin

In Shopware 6, the built-in "Send Test Email" function is notoriously misleading. It delivers the message successfully in isolation — but the moment that same template is triggered inside a Flow, a single invalid or missing variable silently aborts the entire email without any visible error. Merchants and agencies are left guessing which of dozens of variables is the culprit, often resorting to creating a new order for every single test cycle.

With the plugin

This plugin replaces that painful process with a structured debugging environment directly inside the Shopware 6 administration panel. By simulating the real data context of an existing order — including customer data, line items, delivery details, and Flow-specific variables — it renders your email template exactly as it would appear during a live Flow execution, and surfaces any variable errors before they reach production.

How it would work

  1. Select Your Template and Flow

Open the plugin's testing interface from within the Shopware 6 Email Templates section. Choose the email template you want to validate and select the Flow it is used in. The plugin loads the expected variable context for that specific Flow trigger automatically.

  2. Choose a Real Order as Test Context

Select any existing order from your store to serve as the data source. The plugin uses that order's actual customer, product, address, and payment data to simulate the full rendering context — the same data that Shopware 6 would pass to the template during a live Flow execution.

  3. Review Validation Results and Rendered Output

The plugin renders the template and displays the full HTML preview alongside a structured validation log. Any variable that is missing, null, or incompatible with the selected Flow context is flagged by name, so you can fix it immediately rather than searching through the template line by line.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a ready plugin I can buy?

No – it is a concept. We build it for your shop after a short needs analysis. Prices start at €100 and you get a fixed quote before we start.

Does the plugin send any real emails during testing?

No. All rendering and validation happens server-side within the administration panel. No emails are dispatched to customers or internal addresses during the testing process unless you explicitly choose to send a preview to yourself.

Do I need to create a new order to run a test?

No — that is precisely the problem this plugin solves. You can select any existing order from your Shopware 6 store as the test data source. The original order is read-only and is never modified.

Which Flow triggers and variable contexts are supported?

The plugin supports all standard Shopware 6 Flow triggers, including order.placed, all order.state.* transitions, and customer-related events. Support for custom Flow events introduced via third-party extensions can be configured manually through the plugin settings.

Is this plugin suitable for agencies managing multiple client stores?

Yes. The plugin is particularly well-suited for agencies, as it provides a reproducible, documented validation process for every email template before a project goes live. It works independently in each Shopware 6 installation without requiring a shared account or external service.

Which Shopware versions are supported?

We build it for the version your shop runs: 6.5, 6.6 or 6.7. Updates for new Shopware versions are included as long as we stay in active contact.

How long does it take?

Usually 5–10 business days after the needs analysis, depending on the agreed scope.
