Invoice Email Address Field
Let customers specify a separate email address for invoice delivery directly at checkout. Automatically routes invoices — no manual handling required.
The description shows what such a plugin can do. We tailor the scope to your shop after a short needs analysis and usually deliver within a few days.
In short
- Eliminate manual invoice re-routing by capturing the correct recipient address at the point of order
- Reduce customer support requests from B2B buyers whose accounting departments use a separate email address
- Keep your order comment field free for its intended purpose — no more mixed-use workarounds
Why this extension
Without the plugin
Many businesses — particularly those purchasing on behalf of a company — need invoices delivered to a different email address than the one used for order confirmations. Without a dedicated input field, customers resort to workarounds such as adding an invoice email to the order comments, which is unreliable and creates unnecessary manual work for your team. In Shopware 6, there is no built-in solution for this, and existing third-party plugins carry a price tag that is difficult to justify for a focused, single-purpose feature.
With the plugin
This extension solves the problem cleanly and affordably. It adds a clearly labelled invoice email address field directly to the Shopware 6 checkout, positioned below the order comment field. The value is saved as a custom field on the order, and every time an invoice is dispatched the system automatically checks whether this field is populated — if it is, the invoice is routed to the specified address instead of the default contact email. No template overrides, no custom development, and no ongoing manual intervention required.
How it would work
- Install and Configure
After installation, open the plugin configuration in your Shopware 6 Administration panel. Set the field label, optional placeholder text, and choose which sales channels should display the invoice email field. No file edits or template overrides are required.
- Customer Fills In the Field at Checkout
During the checkout process, customers see the invoice email address field positioned directly below the order comment. It is optional — customers who do not need a separate invoice address simply leave it blank and the order proceeds normally.
- Automatic Invoice Delivery
When an invoice is generated and dispatched, the plugin checks whether the custom field contains an address. If it does, the invoice email is sent to that address. If the field is empty, Shopware 6 uses the standard order email address. No manual steps are needed from your team.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a ready plugin I can buy?
No – it is a concept. We build it for your shop after a short needs analysis. Prices start at €100 and you get a fixed quote before we start.
Is the invoice email field mandatory for customers?
No. The field is optional by default. Customers who do not need a separate invoice address can leave it blank — the order will proceed and invoices will be sent to the standard order email address as usual.
Where is the invoice email address stored in Shopware?
The address is stored as a custom field directly on the order. You can view it on the order detail page in the Shopware 6 Administration panel at any time, and it is included in order exports.
Does this plugin require any template or code customisation?
No. The field is injected into the checkout using Shopware's native extension mechanisms. All configuration is handled through the Administration panel — no modifications to theme files or custom PHP code are required.
Will this work if I use a custom checkout theme?
The field is positioned using a Shopware block slot that is present in all standard and most custom themes. If your theme uses heavily customised checkout templates, minor adjustments may be needed — contact us before purchasing if you are unsure.
Which Shopware versions are supported?
We build it for the version your shop runs: 6.5, 6.6 or 6.7. Updates for new Shopware versions are included as long as we stay in active contact.
How long does it take?
Usually 5–10 business days after the needs analysis, depending on the agreed scope.
