Why this extension
Without the plugin
In Shopware 6, when a product qualifies for multiple active promotions simultaneously, all matching discounts are applied by default. For stores running a handful of promotions this may be manageable, but once you scale to dozens or hundreds of concurrent campaigns, uncontrolled discount stacking can erode margins, confuse customers, and create pricing inconsistencies that are nearly impossible to fix manually.

The Promotion Stacking Control extension gives merchants precise authority over how promotions interact. Define a global "one promotion per product" policy or configure priority-based rules so that only the highest-ranking discount applies — all without writing a single manual exclusion rule or customising core Shopware 6 services through code.
How it would work
- Choose Your Global Policy
After installation, navigate to the plugin settings in the Shopware 6 administration. Select either "One promotion per product" — which ensures no product receives more than one discount — or "Highest priority wins", which automatically resolves conflicts by applying only the promotion with the highest configured priority value.
- Configure Per-Promotion Exceptions (Optional)
Each promotion in Shopware 6 gains an additional configuration tab where you can override the global stacking policy for that specific campaign. For example, you may want a loyalty voucher to always stack on top of category discounts while all other promotions follow the global rule.
- Automatic Stacking Resolution at Checkout
When a customer adds a product to the cart and multiple promotions qualify, the plugin evaluates all eligible promotions against your configured rules. Lower-priority or excluded promotions are automatically suppressed before the cart total is calculated. No customer-facing delay, no checkout errors — the correct single discount is applied seamlessly.

Will this plugin work with the promotions I have already created?
Yes. The plugin integrates with your existing promotions and reads the priority values you have already assigned in the Shopware 6 administration. No recreation or reconfiguration of existing promotions is required.
What happens if two promotions have the same priority level?
When two competing promotions share an identical priority value, you can configure a tiebreaker policy — either apply the promotion with the higher absolute discount value, or apply the one created most recently. This is configurable in the global plugin settings.
Does this plugin modify Shopware core files?
No. The plugin is built entirely using Shopware 6's official plugin architecture, event system, and service decoration patterns. Core files are never modified, ensuring full compatibility with Shopware updates and other extensions.
Can individual promotions still be allowed to stack as exceptions?
Yes. Each promotion receives a dedicated stacking configuration tab where you can override the global policy and explicitly permit a specific promotion to stack with others. This gives you precise control without compromising the default behaviour.
Which Shopware versions are supported?
