Bilingual Document Generator
Automatically generate invoices and order documents in two languages at once in Shopware 6. Ideal for B2B stores serving international customers.
The description shows what such a plugin can do. We tailor the scope to your shop after a short needs analysis and usually deliver within a few days.
In short
- Eliminate manual document regeneration for every foreign-language order — saving hours of administrative work each week
- Maintain a single, unified number range across both language versions, ensuring clean bookkeeping and audit trails
- Provide international B2B clients with documents in their own language while keeping your internal records in your base language
Why this extension
Without the plugin
Running a multilingual Shopware 6 store presents a document management challenge that many B2B merchants encounter: when a customer places an order in French, Spanish, or Italian, Shopware generates the invoice and order confirmation exclusively in that order language. Your internal accounting team, warehouse staff, or legal department then receives documents in a language they may not understand — creating friction, errors, and compliance risks.
With the plugin
The Bilingual Document Generator extension solves this problem by automatically producing two versions of every document — one in the language of the order and one in your store’s defined base language, such as German — each sharing the same document number from a unified number range. Configuration is handled entirely within the Shopware 6 administration panel, giving you precise control over which document types are generated bilingually and for which storefront languages the rule applies.
How it would work
- Install and Configure
After installation, navigate to the plugin settings in your Shopware 6 administration panel. Select your store's base language (for example, German) and choose which document types should be generated bilingually. You can also specify which storefront languages should trigger the dual-generation rule — useful if your base language and one of your customer languages are the same, making a duplicate unnecessary.
- Orders Are Processed Automatically
When an order is placed in a qualifying language — for example, French on a German-base store — the plugin intercepts the document generation process. It creates two document versions simultaneously: one rendered in French for the customer, and one rendered in German for your internal records. Both documents are assigned the same document number from the shared number range, keeping your accounting and dispatch workflows consistent.
- Access and Distribute
Both document versions appear in the standard Shopware 6 order detail view under the Documents tab. You can send the customer-language version via the standard email flow, while the base-language version is immediately available for your internal team — no extra steps, no separate exports.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a ready plugin I can buy?
No – it is a concept. We build it for your shop after a short needs analysis. Prices start at €100 and you get a fixed quote before we start.
Will both language versions share the same document number?
Yes. Both the customer-language document and the base-language document receive the identical document number drawn from a single, unified number range. This ensures your accounting records remain consistent and auditable without gaps or duplicates in the sequence.
Which document types can be generated bilingually?
The plugin supports all core Shopware 6 document types, including invoices, order confirmations, delivery notes, and credit notes. You can enable bilingual generation per document type individually, so you are not required to apply the rule to every document type at once.
Can I choose which storefront languages trigger bilingual generation?
Yes. The administration interface lets you define exactly which storefront languages should trigger the dual-language output. For example, if your base language is German and you operate a German storefront alongside French and Spanish ones, you can restrict bilingual generation to French and Spanish orders only.
Does this plugin require custom development or theme modifications?
No custom development or theme changes are needed. The plugin integrates with Shopware 6's native document generation system and is fully configurable through the standard administration panel.
Which Shopware versions are supported?
We build it for the version your shop runs: 6.5, 6.6 or 6.7. Updates for new Shopware versions are included as long as we stay in active contact.
How long does it take?
Usually 5–10 business days after the needs analysis, depending on the agreed scope.
